About the event

Responding to specific challenges of anti-racism work in Vermont schools, Call and Response is offering a day-long opportunity for educators in every role to explore shifting culture toward anti-racism in majority white spaces. We will examine elements of whiteness and white identity, white supremacy culture as it shows up in our institutions and ways of being, trauma and resilience, and ways of engaging with multiculturalism as opposed to appropriation. We will culminate with an immersive cultural experience: A drum workshop with Jeh Kulu Music Director Ismael Bangoura of Guinea, West Africa.
